Call me crazy, but I love planning for Christmas. All of it. I love choosing my charity cards from Amnesty International (www.amnestyshop.org), finding lovely little things for the boys’ stockings, deciding on colour themes and decorations. The lot. I know it may not be an original obsession, but it is a genuine, hearfelt one. This year, as my work life balance might finally be creaking towards the “life” aspect rather than the “work” one, my thrill at planning for Christmas has gone into overdrive. This has been accelerated, I’m sure, by the decidedly non-summery weather outside, and the fact that I am confined to barracks at least till Monday with a nasty case of conjunctivitis. So, what else is there to do, other than indulge in some winter wonderland fantasies…?
